EECN Members

EECN is currently comprised of the following trusts and is governed by a Board of Trustees. All our members are actively involved in delivering a diverse range of energy efficiency programmes and services in their communities.

EcoMatters
EcoMatters Environment Trust is a national leader in household and community based sustainability. Based in Waitakere, EcoMatters services the Auckland region and has a proven track record in energy efficiency, water conservation, waste minimisation, bio-diversity restoration and environmental education. EcoMatters hosts the Auckland region Home Energy Advice Centre.
HEET HEET is a not for profit organisation that delivers the benefits of energy efficiency to the greater Waikato, King Country and Hauraki areas. Their work includes insulation and heating retrofits and the operation of a curtain bank.
Energy Options Energy Options vision is for every New Zealand home to embrace energy efficiency and to engage in energy self sufficiency. They do this by advocating, installing and promoting energy related solutions that enhance community well-being, home health and energy efficiency. Energy Options is based in the Eastern Bay of Plenty and operates throughout the Bay of Plenty, Central North Island, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Marlborough.
BetterHomes Waitara Initiatives Supporting Employment Trust (WISE) is a not for profit community based service, which has created employment initiatives in the Taranaki community since 1999. We deliver site maintenance services to companies in the oil and gas industry in Taranaki. Under our trading arm Wise Better Homes. We deliver retrofitted insulation to houses in Taranaki under the government’s Energywise Warm Up New Zealand programme. We have a long history in this industry working in Taranaki, Whanganui, Manawatu and Horowhenua.
SustainTrust Sustainability Trust was established in 2003 and launched the Wellington Region Environment Centre as its first programme. The Trust works with households and communities providing practical services, advice and outreach over a variety of focus areas including waste, water, energy, biodiversity, gardening and transport. We have been a EnergyWise provider for subsidised insulation and heating since 2004, and host the Home Energy Advice Line for the lower North Island.
CEA Community Energy Action is a charitable trust established in 1994, based in Christchurch mostly working throughout Canterbury north of the Rakaia River. Their main objective is to achieve warm and healthy homes for all, regardless of income and their core activity is the installation of insulation. Community Energy Action delivers programmes targeting the vulnerable elderly and very young. Community Energy Action also provides free home energy education to community groups, a curtain bank service, sells energy efficiency products and acts as an advocate on fuel poverty. Community Energy Action hosts the Canterbury Home Energy Advice Centre.

EDA The Eco Design Advisor is a FREE service operating from eight Councils - Waitakere, Auckland, North Shore, Hamilton, Tauranga/Western Bay of Plenty, Kapiti Coast, Nelson, Wanaka and Queenstown. The Eco Design Advisor is a specialist, providing free energy, water and material related advice on home building projects, to ensure better use is made of resources.
